Leather as well as fur is the perfect material to be used for making clothing, footwear and accessories to be worn in colder seasons. In Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 designer collections we have seen a lot of both leather and fur that automatically makes those the trends of the season.
Now the sun is out we’re beginning to think that maybe summer is finally here, but just as we’re getting our summer dresses out of the closet and searching for new summer sandals, the fashion world has already moved on. Yes, the catwalks have already seen plenty of show from designers showcasing their latest wares, but not for the Spring/Summer collections, instead they’ve already moved on to Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 and clearly determined the fashion trends for this season.
We’ve been taking a look at the biggest trends that we can hope to see this Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 and we’re excited to see the return of leather to the collections. This season though it’s been given an ultra feminine makeover, and is no longer venturing along the biker chic lines.
Expect to see ultra short leather shorts, leather leggings and of course the leather jackets coming into play during Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012. We think that leather is the perfect material for those grey months, and as well as being luxurious and stylish, it’s also practical too, helping to keep you warm and dry.
Accessories of course shouldn’t be overlooked and you can expect handbags to be coming in all manner of leather makeovers during Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012. As well as the traditional brown and black leather, you’ll also find darker hues of scarlet, royal blue and purple to add a hint of colour to your wardrobe.
Handbags are a practical accessory, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t be pretty too. In Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 watch out for a mix of leather and lace, with leather handbags being given feminine lace details. The handbag style of choice will be the envelope clutch – great for nights out and big enough to carry everything with you too. Another choice is the satchel which will be making a comeback for the winter months as well – this trend lends itself well to leather and is a good investment for a piece to see you through several seasons.
